Who is Kaylie?
I have been using Configura since 2003, when I began my career at a Steelcase dealer in Reno, Nevada. There, I leveraged Configura to design and plan Spacesaver filing systems, laying the foundation for my deep expertise in the software.
In 2008, I relocated to Seattle, Washington, where I joined the Beta team for the Steelcase, Smart Tools extension. This experience solidified my passion for CET Designer. Over the next five years, I utilized CET Designer as Lead Designer for Starbucks Coffee Company, supporting both corporate and regional projects. During this time, Starbucks underwent a complete re-stack of its corporate offices, allowing me to facilitate their transition to CET Designer.
My passion for rendering and maximizing CET Designer's capabilities was recognized in 2010 when I won first place in the Configura Rendering Contest.
In 2014, I took on the role of Design Manager for Amazon at HNI. Two years later, when Allsteel embarked on developing its CET Designer extension, I joined the team to support its creation and launch. My contributions included establishing a new tagging standard for the furniture portfolio, defining development requirements, conducting software testing, training designers, creating marketing materials, and managing license administration. Additionally, I organized the Beta team, provided design support, authored reference guides, developed internal web resources, and produced demo videos and training materials.
As the extension launched and dealers began adoption, I observed common challenges that designers faced during the transition to CET Designer. While many were eager to adopt the software, they often lacked the necessary tools and resources to do so effectively.
Recognizing this gap, I founded my own company to support designers during the critical early adoption phase. By providing essential tools such as title blocks, reusable files, rendering assistance, and drawing conversions, I help designers transition seamlessly into CET Designer without disrupting their workflow. My goal is to eliminate barriers that might cause them to revert to familiar but less efficient methods.
I am deeply passionate about CET Designer and its potential to transform the way designers work. When fully embraced, the software enhances efficiency, fosters creativity, and ultimately contributes to a more fulfilling professional experience. I strive to empower designers by making their transition to CET Designer smooth, effective, and rewarding.
